The copyright owner of the Sharp VA software, ("the Software"), the User's Manual, and the installation instructions is Graham P. McPartland, dba McPartland Medical, LLC, as well as dba SharpSystem and Sharp VA.
Limited Hardware Warranty
Sharp System and Sharp VA branded hardware products purchased in the U.S. come with a 90-day or 1-year limited hardware warranty, depending on the product purchased (Sharp System/Sharp VA remote control 1-year, red-blue glasses 90-day). The number of remote control purchases cannot exceed the number of software licenses you hold. If you believe that your hardware is defective, please contact the Sharp VA Support Team. This limited hardware warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Sharp VA branded hardware products.
This limited hardware warranty does not cover:
Software, and non Sharp VA branded hardware.
Problems that result from external causes such as accident, abuse, misuse, or problems with electrical power.
Servicing not authorized by Sharp VA.
Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions.
Failure to follow the product instructions or failure to perform preventive maintenance.
Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied by Sharp VA
SHARP VA'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR MALFUNCTIONS AND DEFECTS IN HARDWARE IS LIMITED TO REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT AS SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT. WE DO NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY BEYOND THE REMEDIES PROVIDED FOR IN THIS LIMITED HARDWARE WARRANTY OR FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LIABILITY FOR THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS AGAINST YOU FOR DAMAGES, FOR PRODUCTS NOT BEING AVAILABLE FOR USE, OR FOR LOST DATA OR LOST SOFTWARE. OUR LIABILITY WILL BE NO MORE THAN THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF A CLAIM. THIS IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT FOR WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE.
Sharp VA Software Guarantee
We guarantee you an unconditional and unlimited evaluation period to try the Sharp VA software. Try any of the McPartland Medical/Sharp VA products for an unlimited period of time and if you decide for any reason they are not the best option for your exam room, there is no obligation to purchase from us. Further, we guarantee that our software arrives in brand new condition every time. If you believe that your software may have been damaged in shipping, we will gladly re-calibrate and re-compile your custom software application; free of charge, of course.
Version 1 and 2 users: To ensure an accurate calibration, Sharp VA will gladly work with you to help establish proper calibration (+/- 3mm) for a period of 30 days. All re-calibration requests after a period of 30 days are subject to a $100 re-calibration fee. This includes changes in monitor size, monitor type (standard vs widescreen presentation), effective optical working distance, and exam room setup (mirror vs standard view). Version 3 users: you are entitled to free re-calibrations for a period of 1 year (after which, the cost will be $49-$100). Version 4 users: you can make adjustments to the calibration of the Sharp VA software on your own.
Returns and Refunds
McPartland Medical and Sharp VA provide an unlimited evaluation of all software products. This allows prospective buyers to evaluate the software to ensure it meets their needs before purchasing. Our software trial gives the prospective customer more than sufficient time to decide if the Sharp VA software will be a good match for their needs, work flow, computer components, exam room setup, and technical ability. Hence, no software returns are allowed after a purchase.
In rare cases, we may allow software returns (on a case-by-case basis only). All returns must be pre-authorized by McPartland Medical and/or Sharp VA; furthermore, all pre-authorizations must be established before your order is placed/purchase date. Refunds will not be made towards unauthorized items (even if you ship them back to us).
Returned products must be complete of all components (CD, manuals, software carton, hardware, etc.) that comprised the original shipment. No credit will be issued for incomplete Sharp VA products.
All returned must be received in 10 days after the purchase if you reside in US or Canada. International customers have 15 days to complete the return process otherwise the request will be rejected.
McPartland Medical/Sharp VA will not refund the shipping and handling charges for every return. To receive a refund for software purchases from Sharp VA, you must obtain from Sharp VA an Affidavit of Software Destruction, and complete and return the Affidavit to Sharp VA. You must also destroy all copies of the software you may have made or stored in any place (including any/all virtual copies), as well as uninstall the software from any computers owned or controlled by you where you have installed the software. Once you have returned the Affidavit of Software Destruction to Sharp VA, all licenses you may have to use the software will be immediately terminated, and any further use of the software will be an infringement of copyrights as well as other intellectual property rights.
Pre-Authorized Returns are subject to the following:
5% processing fee (includes restocking of hardware, only if hardware is returned in new condition).
10% customization, calibration, and compilation of custom software application fee.
S&H, insurance, customs fees.

McPartland Medical/Sharp VA does not offer free advice on exam room setup, general computer/monitor advice, etc. While we are happy to provide all customers with rough guidelines on exam room setup, software calibration, monitor placement, calibration, system requirements, etc., only you can make the necessary final decisions on the setup of your exam room and calibration. This may mean that you will need to enlist the help of an IT professional, practice consultant, etc, depending on your technical ability, knowledge of optics and exam room setup, etc. We are always happy to provide you with 100% free advice/support on how to use the Sharp VA software features! All Sharp VA support is provided for free via email and our Online Support Ticket website (100% web-based).
